Virginia vacation

We were lucky enough to spend the last part of our summer in Virginia for just over a week. We had such a great time sight seeing in D.C. and visiting Thad's family in Barhamsville, Virginia. Here is a brief run-down of our trip.

Day 1- up at 2:30am to catch a 6:15am flight to Washington D.C. (who's idea was that?) On a bright note, we stayed at the JW Marriott on Pennsylvania Ave. NICE!
Day 2- International Spy Museum, US Capitol and White House
Day 3- visit Burke (where Thad grew up), Arlington Cemetery, Iwo Jima monument and The Pentagon
Day 4- WWII Memorial, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial and train ride to Richmond (funny Cayson story)
Thad- Cayson, do you know who that is?
Cayson- No
Thad- That is Abraham Lincoln, he was our 16th president.
Cayson- Oh, I thought it was Jesus
Days 5 and 6- spent time with family and visited the cemetery where Thad's dad is buried
Day 7- Busch Gardens- Yay roller coasters and Thad screams like a girl on scary rides!!!
Day 8- Virginia Beach and unexpected trip to the ER with Carly
Day 9- We were supposed to go home but due to the hospital trip and the possibility of infection in Carly's shunt the Dr didn't want us to travel. No problem, we didn't want to leave anyways!
Days 10-12- Relaxed and spent time with family
Day 13- Flew out at 6:45pm and arrived at 10:50pm (1:50am VA time...just imagine how much fun that was!)
